Bought a Shark cordless hoover brand new unopened. Absolutely perfect for me.

However my wife passed away very soon afterwards and I was away for the funeral a few days.

Upon my return I discovered the house had been burgled and the hand held section of the hoover was missing.

Unfortunately the item was not insured and so I asked sharks reps for a list of the parts that I would require together with details of where to order them from.

I spent another ยฃ120 on the replacement parts only to discover that the battery was not included with the motor section (no information to this effect when purchasing).

Anyway I resolved to myself that I would simply have to pay out another ยฃ80 for the battery! But I would finally be able to clean my house.

Suprisingly when I tried to order the battery I was told that no batteries were available and shark had no due date for them.

I rang the customer service department and explained the situation.

A gentleman then told me that as a gesture of good will, shark would issue a compatible battery for me free of charge.

This would have been perfect if the battery was in fact the right type to fit my hoover!

I rang the customer service back and they said that the issue had been referred to the 'escalation department' and they would be calling me back within the next 48Hrs.

I waited for the call which never happened.

I called back!

I was now told that the issue was raised with the "escalation department" but someone decided that it was not to be escalated and they would wait until I called them back to tell me that there is nothing that they can do because the battery should not have been sent out to me in the first place!

I should now refer the matter to the police!

User's recommendation: Don't have any thing to do with them.

Monetary Loss: $100.

Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered.

Shark Pros: It gets up alot of allerfens, Duel brushes.

Shark Cons: Having to suffer for your mistake, I felt the rep was treating me as if i was stupid, Telling me lies.
